A curated home.
It was this area where my client had a life-changing epiphany. By highlighting what was important to her we were able to create a strong visual representation of her personality and lifestyle.
“I was afraid I would lose myself by eliminating too much, but it was actually the opposite. When I look back at the ‘before’ photos they don’t reflect anything about who I am. This process allowed me to find myself, and I’m proud that my home is now a reflection of that.”
This project took 10 hours.
This room had a lot of expectations. The father wanted a dedicated workout space, the mother wanted an art studio, and the children wanted an area to play. By clearing out everything that didn’t meet one of those criteria we were able to create three distinct spaces within one room so that everyone can happily co-exist.
This project took 10 hours.
This family of four yearned for a comfortable (and tidy!) kitchen to host family and friends. Surprisingly, we didn’t eliminate a lot; instead, we reimagined the space and came up with a logical foot path and flow so that everything has a home.
The mother had Pinterest-level visions of labeled mason jars as far as the eye can see, and we achieved that in spades, so that the inside of her kitchen cabinets is as pleasing as the outside.
This project took 10 hours.
The client had dreams of hosting dinner parties and inviting friends over without having to completely freak out before guest arrive, or apologize profusely for the mess. In other words, they wanted to enjoy and share their home with ease.
This project took 6 hours.
This bar nook and pantry is right off of the garage entryway and therefore became a dumping ground for everything coming into the house. Once we had a clear-cut vision the homeowners were able to enjoy each space for it’s intended purpose.
This project took 5 hours.
The goal was to have a clean, inviting space for the kids to play, and after sorting all of the storage items we were able to create just that. We created a music space, an art space, and a sewing area. Happy faces (and a huge drum set) all around!

This 10 year old girl had a goal of transforming her little girl room into something more sophisticated. We completed the entire process together and were able to achieve her ideal space. She was looking for calm and serene, a chic space that is perfect for hanging out with friends (her idea) and doing homework (her mom’s idea).
This project, including closets, took 10 hours.
A desk is no longer useful when its surface is cluttered. Paper can be a tedious category but one that yields impressive results.
This 10 year old girl struggled to get ready for school in the morning because she was always searching for her clothing and shoes. We found a storage solution and repurposed several storage containers that were already in the home. She and her family look forward to an easier morning routine with this new system.

This client longed for a more efficient morning routine, which is easily achievable via the KonMari method.
It’s easier to get dressed in the morning when everything in your closet sparks joy.
This project took 5 hours.
This closet was a warehouse for items that didn’t have a home. Once we went through the client’s kitchen, she ‘rediscovered’ a lot of barware that brought her tremendous joy, so we created a bar on the first two shelves to highlight her collection. This will also function as a bar when guests are over.
The third shelf is dedicated to crafting; the fourth to her collection of travel trinkets; and the bottom one became her office.
By highlighting the most meaningful items, this space is now both functional and joyous.
This project took 5 hours (including the kitchen).
I guided this 10 year old through the process of selecting which toys and games sparked joy.
She found many items previously ‘lost’ and acquired an appreciation for maintaining order along the way.

This room was overstuffed and underutilized. The owner’s vision was two-fold. Firstly, in the purest KonMari fashion, she wanted to be surrounded by her beloved memorabilia, which brought her tremendous joy, but was buried in the mess. Secondly, and equally as important, she wanted to see the floor again!
We combed through 20 years of miscellaneous papers that were in a half a dozen storage tubs and created a working filing system. We also carved out a proper office area as well as a prominent showcase for memorabilia.
This project took 18 hours.
This shared closet was so stuffed the doors wouldn’t even open all the way. The wife had completely overtaken the husband’s side and even that didn’t seem like enough room.
Half of her wardrobe was underneath her bed in boxes that were rarely acknowledged, except by her cats, and that space is now completely clear. Once she completed the joy check process we were able to reconfigure the closet to accommodate what was left over, and highlight her shoe collection, which was previously kept on a high shelf in boxes.
She is delighted by the new accessibility in her closet while her cats are reveling in their newfound freedom underneath the bed.
This project took 8 hours.
This client had a surplus of virtually everything because her disorganized bathroom caused her to buy far more than she really needed. With a home for every category (makeup, hair products, travel, sun protection, medicine, etc.) she now knows what she has and what she needs, and can access it all with ease.
This project took 2 hours.
How many coats can fit into an over-stuffed entry hall closet? In this case, 68. This client wanted a better solution for getting out of the house in the morning and she ended up donating 32 unwanted, unworn, or outgrown coats. That’s still a healthy amount of outwear left to get a family of four through every season and sporting event.

This book lover once had an extensive library of physical books that have dwindled due to his recent Kindle purchase. After noting that so few books remained after the Joy Check process, he let go of the bookshelves too!
This project took 1 hour.
Full disclosure: this is not my work. My daughter is so inspired by the KonMari lifestyle that she’s now helping her friends organize their belongings. This is from her first komono session. It’s never too early!
